SESVA Raffle Update
Our state wide raffle is back and will commence over the next week, it is been undertaken on our behalf by Mycooee and will run for the next month to six weeks. I would urge all volunteers of NSW SES to support this raffle as it is done on your behalf and benefits you, the volunteers.
The money raised will be used to support SES volunteers in a number of ways; a unit grant of up to $5,000.00 is now available and our scholarship fund in partnership with the Minister for Emergency Services and SHQ now has $15,000.00 available per annum. For more information and an application form please see your copy of the Volunteer magazine or the Downloads section of the web site.
The monies raised will also help us continue our efforts in improving the service. You will notice over the next year that the vehicle subsidy funding has been increased by almost threefold and the building subsidy for unit HQs has doubled from $50k to $100k. This has been made possible after the state government increased the NSW SES budget by over $6 million per annum; this increase came about only after effective lobbying by the SESVA.
I would also like to thank all the recent nominees for region delegates of SESVA and wish those that are having elections in their regions all the best.
